Braden's Visit to Evansville

Braden had his first visit with his Great Grandma Singleton and Great Aunt Donna. After several terrifying hours in the car with my husband and his driving skills and 2 dry rotted tires, we made it late on Friday night. Aunt Donna was a favorite of Braden's. He enjoyed listening intently to her when she talked, and would smile and coo when she held him. He is such a lady's man already! His Great Grandma found out how heavy he was to hold, since he weighs over 11 lbs now.

We took him to the Church St. Joe's for Easter Sunday mass. This was the church my parents were married in and I was baptized at. He was awake for most of mass, and mommy was so proud of him that he didn't cry at all! He did manage to burp, pass gass and then get the hiccups much to the delight of those around him. He was blessed by the priest at communion time, though he really didn't notice as he was too busy chewing on my shoulder.

He met most of the family at Easter dinner. Sadly, Aunt Donna Singleton was flooded in and couldn't make it to Grandma's house. She will just have to meet him another time. Enjoy the MANY pictures that we took on Easter Sunday-mostly his Grandma Anna is to blame

Random Pictures

Braden loves to lay on his daddy's belly. They have similar belly's, and I enjoy pointing that out to Brad. Also notice the picture of Braden's grandmother. This is what happens when you let her babysit- they both pass out and she nearly falls off the couch!

A Visit With Nanny and Papa and Aunt Francie

Braden went to visit his Nanny Papa and Aunt Francie last weekend. This was the first time they had seen him. His Uncle Jim was also there for a houseboat show, and even his Aunt Linda came for a visit. He was a big hit, especially with his birthday buddy Aunt Francie. Braden just loves to be cuddled and held, and his great-grandparents and great -aunt made sure he got plenty of that. I have some pictures from last weekend, but my mother has better ones. When she sends them to me, I will add them so you can all enjoy. Also, he went to the doctor last Friday. He now weighs 11 pounds, 1 oz and is 23 inches long. The doctor said he is developing at the rate of a 4 month old. I can confirm that estimate seems accurate. If you hold Braden, he can hold is head up and push away from your shoulder. He has surprised me several times with this feat when I wasn't prepared. Good thing I have a strong grip! He also acts like he wants to crawl, and while his feet have the proper motion, he can't get his hands to follow suit. Instead, he sort of does a belly scoot if he is on his stomach. This frustrates him to no end, and he usually ends up in a rage. He will get it down eventually!

A Few of Braden's One Month/Easter Pics

Big Adventures for Braden

Braden is 1 month old! I can hardly believe it that time has flown by so fast! Last weekend Ohio had a huge snow, and Cincinnati got about 10 plus inches. Braden Brad and I decided to get snowed in at his parents house instead of ours. Grandpa and Grandma Dirheimer loved spending the entire weekend with him. He has been alot more alert and they were certainly able to see his personality that weekend.
Our dog Rusty still isn't very thrilled with Braden. He gets very jealous when Brad's dad Gary holds Braden. He tends to run the other direction or give a very sad look and go pout somewhere. Keep in mind this is a dog and not a human, though I personally think he acts like a spoiled toddler. I'm just kidding, Rusty really is the sweetest dog ever. We also had Braden's one month pictures and more Easter pictures taken at JC Penny's on Sunday. I was worried he would be totally asleep, but true to his nature the minute the car stopped moving he was wide awake. He was so cute for the camera, he smiled and laughed and looked right at the photographer. I can pick the pictures up next week, but they did email me a link to all that were taken so I will try to post them for you. We are headed to Jeffersonville tomorrow so Braden can meet his Nanny Papa and Great Aunt Francie. He shares a birthday with his Aunt Francie, and she only spoils him a little for that ;) (If you know Aunt Francie, you know that she doesn't do anything on a small scale!) He is a very lucky boy to have so many family members who can't wait to see him. To everyone in Jeffersonville, be prepared. When Alyssa met them for the first time, she was a teeny little baby who was able to rest on Aunt Francie's chest. I'm guessing my son is over 10 pounds now and is not a tiny baby by any means. Start doing some arm workouts to prepare, this boy will tire you out!
One more thing, the pictures above are of Braden with a Tony Stewart Onesie. This was given to him courtesy of his Uncle Jim. Uncle Jim thinks he can turn my child into a Tony Stewart fan, isn't he funny? We all know this child will be a Dale Earnhardt Jr fan. I'm surprised my father even allowed this picture to be taken! Just Kidding!

Braden's Crazy Hair

We gave Braden a bath last night, and as I have said before his hair stands on end when this happens. We decided to take some pictures of him just to bug him. He made such funny faces and had such crazy hair that we were laughing hysterically the entire time. His Grandma Fultz was there, and instead of rescuing the poor child from his mean parents, she just laughed with us. I ave a feeling we will use these pictures to torture him later on in life!

Easter Bunny Pictures!

Braden went to see the Easter Bunny last weekend, and he was not very impressed. We enjoyed it a whole lot more than he did, but he will thank us one day! I am still working on scanning his offical photo in, but here are some shots of him before we went (and before he threw up on his outfit)
