A Visit to Tennesse to see Brian
This past weekend Brad Braden and I finally got to go down to Nashville to see Brian play baseball at Trevecca Nazarene University. Neither of us has seen Brian play while he is at college, so it was very exciting for us. I took a half day off of work and we left Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, we didn't get down to Nashville until the second game started. We missed Brian hit a homerun in the first game.
We joined Brad's parents and Grandparent's who were all staying at his Uncle Tom and Aunt Penny's gorgeous house. The pictures are from the Saturday game that Trevecca played at a AAA stadium. Brian did well, and though we missed his very impressive batting practice(hitting 2 bombs over the scoreboard), his team went 3-3 that weekend. Braden enjoyed his first baseball game and seeing his Uncle Brian. He just laughed and smiled every time Brian held him.
On a side note, I found out before I left work on Friday that I got a promotion after only 6 months and maternity leave! I'm very excited and should start my new position sometime in the next few weeks!

The Baptism
Braden had a very exciting weekend that just concluded this evening. He got to meet his Uncle Brian for the first time, and he had his baptism at St. Peter in Chains Catholic church. Uncle Brian hasn't been able to come home and see Braden because he plays baseball at Triveca College, and his nephew was born just as baseball season started. Brian was Braden's godfather, and Braden's Great Aunt Donna Rutter is his godmother. SHe wasn't able to make it, so Rachel stood up for him in her honor. Braden was of course the best baby in the church. 3 other babies were being baptised, and all were fussy. There was a beautiful little girl in an adoreable white dress who didn't stop crying the entire time. When Father Bunch but the water and oils on his head, he didn't make a peep! He was a little uncomfortable in his cute white baptism suit since it was a little small, but we took it off of him and put him in a onesie. Grandma Connie had his cake made at work and Aunt Nancy threw the baptismal party. Everyone but Braden had Grandma Nichting's Spaghetti and Meatballs-something both Brad and I have been looking forward to since Christmas. They were fabulous. All in all it was a great weekend, and now we are heading to bed early in anticipation of his first day of daycare tomorrow!
